                  - Book " The snowy day" by Ezra Jack Keats

Preparation

Put a white copy paper on top of the character of the book and trace it.  Cut it out and trace it on a brown paper and a red one.  Cut out from the red figure's head, the lower part to show the face.  Glue the red over the brown.

It is a two steps activity.

First step:

Mix shaving cream with glue.  About one part of glue to two parts of shaving cream, it should resemble to whipped cream.  I made 4 bowls for 8 children.  If some of your students cannot share just mix another one.  Let them experiment and enjoy.  When the paper is full, take it away to dry and give them another one for them to keep on exploring.

Second step:

When the "snow" is dry, give them the little boy with glue and instruct them to flip it over and place on their project.  Then dip a cotton swabs in the light blue paint and demonstrate how to make tracks in the snow by dabbing 2 times then give him/her the swabs.

After they did, give them another paper and paint to allow them to do whatever they want.

Aren't they cute?
But the most important thing is they had fun doing it and are proud of it.

Update 1/2024

Notice the bottom of the board, it is a pattern of snow angels and snowmen for a logic and reasoning activity. The first ones are protected on the board with packaging clear tape and the others are protected individually and have a piece of 2 sided tape for an interactive board.  My kids play with them quite often.

S'more book for toddlers

S'more book for toddlers A print concepts activity I had so much fun doing this project during nap.  I'd like to encourage you to draw even if you think you are bad at it.  Most of us draw like a 12 years old because it is when we stopped. I saw on pinterest a similar book but it was for preschool therefore too advanced for my kids so I came up with this one.  I Google hazelnut drawing and to my surprise I found something and same thing with marsmallow fluff.  I chose the simplest one and tried to replicated it.  Well I'm happy with the result. The coloring part was fun too.
