Is it Spring? One week art project for toddlers

IS IT SPRING?

One week art project for toddlers

Supplies:

- Light green construction paper

- brown construction paper

- cotton swabs

- brown crayons

- Pink Watercolor or pink bingo dauber

- Dark green construction paper

- Pink and/or yellow construction paper

First day :

We ripped some brown paper, encouraging and demonstrating to make long strips.

Then I gave my students a light green sheet of construction paper and a glue stick (helping them a little along the way).  Then I gave them a handful of cotton swabs and a brown crayons after I demonstrated to color the middle of them.

Then I spread some glue line around the tree trunk and instructed them to place the swabs on top and press for a few seconds.

Then my assistant helped them to dab a pink bingo dauber on each end of the swabs.

Second day:

I gave them the choice between a pink or yellow little square of construction paper and showed them, one by one, how to fold it in a 🔺️ then in a tulip by folding up the two lower corners. They were not able to do it but it gave me the opportunity to talk about square and triangle and pink and yellow.  I gave them a glue stick and asked them to spread a line of glue where they wanted the flower to be on their picture.  I gave them a stem that I cut out in advance and instructed to put on top of the glue and tap tap tap.  Then I put more glue on top of the stem and prompted to put the tulip (that I ended up folding) on top of the stem (again here's an opportunity to use new words).

They loved doing it, next we drew birds.

Oups! I don't know what happened to the tulip head 😀

Ice fishing, activity for toddlers

ICE FISHING Cognitive Activity for toddlers I wrapped a box with white paper,  then cut out a hole on one side.  I put magnet fishes in it and gave my "kids" the magnet fishing poles that goes with them.  If you don't have that you can make your own poles with paper towel tubes with a string and a letter magnet and paper fishes with a paper clip.   This activity is good for initiative, engagement in learning and cognitive flexibility.

Paper tube rings and cotton swabs sbowflakes

PAPER TUBE RINGS AND COTTON SWABS SNOWFLAKES Fine motor skills activity for toddlers Supplies : - paper tubes - scissors - hole punch - cotton swabs Prep : Cut paper towel or toilet paper tubes in 2 inches rings.  Punch 6 holes, try to make the one across at the same distance from the edge then change the height location for the other sets.  Meaning one set of two close to the upper edge, another one close to the lower edge and the last one in the middle.  Give your student a ring and three cotton swabs then provide more as they finish them.  Have fun like we did!

Snowy owl

Snowy owl Craft for toddlers Preparation  Cut out 2 big circles per child and 2 smaller black circles, glue the black ones in the yellow ones, cut out a black triangle.  Get ready 3 black construction papers, 3 dark blue and 3 purple. The activity It can be done as a full group or small or individually.   Go with the flow of your class that moment. I like to make one in advance as a model and if they are responsive I make one in front of them for them to see the steps. I gave them choice of the dark colors, (toddlers love to have choice) and makes them learning their name and recognizing them. Spread a good amount of white tempera paint with a little glue mixed in, on a dark construction paper.  Demonstrate your children how to spread it as you give them a white feather, if they get frustrated give them a paint brush. When they are done give them the eyes and the beak.
